Why Is Everything Blue?

You may have noticed that things look a little different around here. This is because I’m doing some major work behind-the-scenes to switch this site from Movable Type, a very nice (but expensive) weblog program, to WordPress, an equally nice (but free and open-source) weblog program. It will probably take me a few days to fully restore this site to the way it looked before, so please bear with me.

Granted it’s just a default, but I don’t think the blue looks bad at all.

In fact, I kinda like it. Clean. Simple. Attractive. Easy to read.

As well,I am enjoying its clean and simple lines. Almost makes me want to fix the rough edges on my site’s design. Almost. I need a new style for spring anyway, so those edges can stay rough.

I would change the “Just another Wordpress Blog” bit, though. :-P

Yeah, I actually don’t mind the default WordPress design at all, but as a web designer, I can’t accept the defaults on anything, and there are a lot of behind-the-scenes code changes that I want to make.

Still, this design is very readable, and I like a lot of it, so I’ll probably retain many of the best features into future designs.
