It amazes me that you would take such a risk… You’re too new to the job to make a decision not to do work like that. No offense, or anything, but I’m surprised you didn’t get fired.Everything you do at that job right now directly reflects Steve since he recommended you so highly. Do you just not take it seriously? I don’t get it. This isn’t college, it’s the real world.Hope no one hates you in that company now… good luck :(

it was more like, Miles left and he sat down to do the work, rather than sleep. Still kinda dumb, but it’s not like be blew it off entirely…

i guess "not being around" the night before a demo counts as not blowing it off? waiting until 4am to be available to do some work?yes, miles was only in town for a little while, but the priorities you choose will be reflected back to you.some of us should try to take that to heart. (yes, myself included- since i put myself at risk recommending him so highly.)

Hold on.If you knew you had work to do, and when it was due, and how much you had left to do, then how were you "taking a risk" that it would be there after you hung out with Miles?

it’s a risk because here in the real world–where you have to pay rent and there are other people depending on you–things don’t get done (LET ALONE _GET STARTED_) in the 3 hours before a demo’s supposed to go on.why? cause every project has an unknown extra amount of time it’ll take to completion, and cutting yourself so short is going to lead to failure, as it did here.i find these events personally very disturbing, because i’m the one who stayed home to do the work and i’m the one who spent his evening deflecting a lot of unkind sentiment away from scott (who i’m sure had a good time), and i defended his decisions and actions, and this is what it got me.all i can say is, next time i won’t be able to say "i’m sure he’ll get the work done" when he’s offline and unavailable.
