Want some proof of how accurate our bombs are?

More of the satellite photos of baghdad.
I’m particularly interested in seeing the placement of the oil-filled-trenches that they lit on fire (that’s what the black smoke is coming from… the bombing targets are grey smears on the ground) to try to make it harder to bomb targets… and see just how ineffective a smokescreen is when we can look down from orbit.

Me too
I’m impressed too, especially by the fact that we can get pictures this clear and this big and this soon after the fact. However, Jeremy brought up a good point. Even if only 10% of the bombs missed their target (a conservative estimate) that would still be upwards of 800 bombs missing. Not to mention the pentagon’s track record on reporting success rates, remember the patriot missile debacle the first time around?
I would like to believe its as clean precise as they say but we’ll have to wait and see. Not that anyone will get in trouble if its not …

Patriot
How about the patriot missle debacle this time around? Patriot missiles shot down a British jet killing both on board. A few days later patriot missiles locked on to an American jet which returned fire with an anti radiation missile (HARM) blowing up the patriot system before it could fire on the jet.
Patriot missiles, we shoot down flying things. Yup. Works great!

As long as we don’t care what we blow up :) If at all.
