I had the nuttiest day, some of which ought to make a good hatelife entry by week’s end, after some little dramas pan out… But anyway…
I bought a bed today! Aww yeah. $125 for a queen-size box spring and mattress, being delivered tomorrow. I’m suddenly nervous that the bed won’t even fit in my alcove, because the alcove is exactly 5 feet wide (and so is the bed) but the alcove also has a heating rail running along the bottom of it, which might get in the way. So I should be thinking about getting a frame, or bricks to stand it on so it can sit above the rail, but naturally I’m pretending like everything will be just dandy and not thinking about it.
Good thing I’m not an architect, eh?
Also bought “The Album Cover Art of Sound Tracks” at Powell’s. A mere $7, for lots of full color renditions of the crazy artwork that they put on soundtrack records, back in the day. Admittedly, none of them are quite as good as “Music to Watch Girls By” but they come mighty close — such as the artwork for the movie “Not With _My_ Wife, You Don’t!” Also featured is the artwork for two of the three Shaft albums, as well as “Blacula”, and lots of movies with women on motorcycles. Amazing.
And finally, from today’s Willamette Week:
