Remember Gary Dirin? There are certainly plenty of stories to remember, but without a doubt the best of them is the Pulp Cereal story that Sean was writing. It’s unfinished, but I still feel its some of the best work he’s ever done, and while it’s reminiscent of Tolkien or even Lovecraft at times, the subject is fiercely original. (curse that required email slot! curse any web designer who, when you’ve failed to fill out a required box, shunts you back to blank form, having vanished your post to the ether!)
the next two chapters of the gary dirin serial were all written up, but lost when my old computer died. i could have continued on from there, but there was too much setup in there that i couldn’t recreate easily to continue now.
but consider this story a rough draft for one of the future gary dirin graphic adventure novels. the visual medium will better suit the epic nature of his happenings.

The required email slot is safe to use - it’s never displayed on any page, and it enables me to easily reply to people’s comments directly via email if I want. Very nice standard feature.
As for the form going blank, I hate to say it, but that’s probably your browser, not the site. Although there’s possibly some javascript I could slap up to force it to remember…
And I’m not sure I agree with you on the visuals being better suited for Gary Dirin. Possibly, but part of what appeals to me about Tolkien and Lovecraft is that we’re left to fill in the blanks ourselves. For instance - your screaming demon scene wouldn’t work nearly as well in a visual. You would have to close in on the main character’s face the whole time to avoid showing the demon and keep the scene working the same way.
Oh well, this is a debate that’s been had countless times before, and certainly some ideas are easier to express visually, such as your giant clockwork sphere.
