There is a TV commercial for Excedrin Migrane medicine which bothers me. A woman is speaking about the wonders of this miracle drug, and I swear, she actually says this: “I saw on a website that Excedrin blah blah works wonders blah blah…”
Oh yeah. Not “clinical studies have shown that…” or “four out of five doctors prefer…” or even “I’m not a doctor, but I play one on TV.” Nope. “I saw on a website that…”
I love that she doesn’t even qualify what kind of website. I bet it was some GeoCities fan page. “NUdE PiX of DReW BaRRyMoRe! And Excedrin works wonders!”
Also, there is a new show on Comedy Central called Sports Night, which is really really cool. It’s funny and I’m really enjoying it, but I have to say that Comedy Central does one thing that bugs me. They don’t play the episodes in order. They jump all over the place. Each week, they play two episodes in a row. But the next week, the two episodes might be four episodes in the future, or six episodes back. It’s like a weird trip through time. From the frame of reference of the first episode I saw, I’ve been to the future, into the past, back to the present, to the future, to the far past, back to the future! It’s very confusing.

A representative from OSPIRG came to talk to my economics class last year and spent about twenty minutes of our time talking about how great OSPIRG is, and all the causes they’ve "worked on" and how they’ve "really made a difference" and all the other bullshit OSPIRG and like organizations spout to drum up interest. She was there to try to recruit more volunteers for various projects OSPIRG was going to start working on, and she talked about how there’d never been anythign like this back in Vermont or wherever the girl was originally from, and it was amazing to be able to make as much of a difference as OSPIRG does. All well and good, until she let us ask her a few questions.I had to fight from laughing out loud when she spouted the following (and I quote):"Well, personally, I’ve been with OSPIRG for about three days and I’m just so glad to be able to help with so many things."

Sports Night used to be on one of the networks. It was on for like 2 seasons before they cancelled it. I don’t know why they did because I too enjoyed it. I’m sure many more people enjoyed it. However, I’m guessing that more people were watching some other drivel like the Webber show. Good shows getting cancelled sucks. Oh, and the Ellensburg cable company sucks for getting comedy central and the sci-fi channel after I leave.

Ahk. I get Cartoon Network via satellite, but it’s been scrambled since October 15, 1998, and there’s absolutely NO way to get a decoder here in Germany. Which is bad, since what interesting things I get on German TV is either really bad or extremely poorly translated.
