Annie came home tonight and complained that I smelled like vodka.
So I made her a screwdriver, too.

You know . . . I don’t mean to be rude or anything, but I’ve been noticing lately that an unseemly number of Fojar’s jokes and projects revolve around whiskey and vodka. To put it bluntly: do you do anything in your free time besides getting drunk and making comic strips? I thought you guys liked your jobs . . . are they that bad?Maybe it’s just me . . . pleasant as it can be occasionally, being drunk has never been fun enough to do it on a regular basis.
actually, i don’t know that we’ve been drinking much at all lately. at least, i haven’t.. an occasional drink here and there, but i haven’t been properly drunk in quite some time.why, it’s 7:30 in the AM and i’m sober as a whistle!
We don’t actually drink very often (I think been drinking maybe twice this month? and less the month before)… it’s just that we find that kind of humor to be amusing. And as for the story I posted here about the screwdrivers, I thought it was funny because it’s true.
I’ve realized, I think this has more to do with my sense of humor changing now that I’m approaching fatherhood.Sex jokes and drinking jokes just don’t seem as amusing now that I wouldn’t say them in front of my daughter . . .
i realize this is off the main page now, so you probably won’t see it… but are you joking?? the funniest dads i knew had dirty minds, and their kids turned out really great too.
No, I still think it’s funny. But I’m becoming more aware of how much violence and profanity and drugs and such are in the tv shows and movies and stuff that I tend to frequent. Not that I will probably change my viewing habits, but there are certain shows that I will wait to watch until after the kids go to bed . . . I imagine I will become a heavy TiVo user in coming years. And one of the writing exercises I have that I’m going to eventually post was an experiment to see how many times I could get a character to use the F-Word and still have the story move along and not be ridiculous. Well . . . too ridiculous, anyway.
I'm a 30-year-old web producer and CSS Ninja working at Pop Art who has been making websites for over 12 years. I live in Portland, Oregon with my wife and baby daughter, where I spend my free time playing video games and watching movies.
