I didn’t actually work much on this site, but I wanted to draw some attention to it because it’s really cool. Leatherman just launched a line of luxury tools, called Argentum. The site is really cool, from the jQuery animations to the large non-tiling illustration in the background depicting Argentina, where the artist lives. Also fun is the reaction when people first see the $40,000 price tag attached to the highest-priced item. We got quite a bit of attention on various gadget blogs, including Uncrate and Boing Boing, and the comments sections were always fun to see. My favorite reaction was a guy who said he thought the whole thing was phony, meant to drum up some “viral” traffic to the main Leatherman site. I kinda wish we had thought of something that devious, but no, these tools are real, made-to-order, and the prices are real too.
