He may wear the batman costume to disguise the fact that he is actually Bruce Wayne, but when he became the Batman, he stopped being the billionaire playboy, and started playing the role of the billionaire playboy to keep up appearances. Martian manhunter is actually a lot like Superman in this. He IS the martian Manhunter, he has to disguise himself to be among humans, as are most of the X-Men. They ARE mutants, they hide that fact in public. However, that is also not the point here.
