We were going up north this weekend, but sadly, Dave and Rose weren’t able to get their sonigram appointment in time, so we decided to save the money for going up north a few weeks from now. The upside is that I can use the extra time here in town to get a bunch of stuff on my to-do list done!

Hi,
So I have to clarify…It was an ultrasound that we were going to have and it wasn’t that we missed the appointment or anything. We were there plenty early. The problem was that the letter of referal that I had received from my midwife is not satisfactory for the insurance company. I must go to an assigned family practitioner whom I have never met and never want to meet and have her/him examine me and then refer me to the radiologist for an ultrasound. It is a bunch or medical bullshit that really frustrates me. I would have done it had I known that is what was necessary, but nobody knew. My midwife is my care provider for my pregnancy, so why is it that she cannot refer me?
So now I have to push back the appointment until the insurance company is satisfied with my letter of referal if I can even get one, because my assigned PCP might want to refer me somewhere else… so now it will be past the optimal time to get the ultrasound for diagnostic purposes……I am not doing the ultrasound to make my pregnancy more real or bond with my baby…I only want to do it to make sure that our decision to have the baby outside of the hospital is the best decision with the knowledge we could possibly have.
I did learn one thing at the hospital, I do NOT want to give birth there. OH MY GOD, why would anyone wish to be treated like a sick person when they are NOT!
