Plan of Attack

Sorry for the lengthy delay in posting, there’s been a lot of stuff going on lately. Here’s my to-do list for non-work items:

  1. Try to reinstall FreeBSD on the server, to confirm once and for all if the server will return.
  2. Make a big photo post here on Rusted, with photos of the party, our beach trip, and of Leilani and her new swingset.
  3. Restore websites (either on repaired server, or on new hosting), put up KMorg archives somewhere that people can download their journal contents.
  4. Set up NewsBeat.org with Jill.
  5. New designs for Rusted - I actually made some progress on this on the train ride Saturday.

Just wanted to say thanks for letting us know that you’re still thinking about the server.

I loved KMorg and hope it will return… even if it doesn’t, thanks for trying so hard to bring it back to us.

I remember finding out about KMorg after a friend told me about Choose and playing around with it a bit. Web-based choose-your-own-adventure is such a cool concept. :-)

I’ve got my fingers crossed for the server.

    I second Effika’s emotion.
I hate to ask here, but whathell happened to yellow5? No band left, only crazy magic comments. Crazy poison calendar, too.
    It makes me nervous.

When Steve left, he took his domains with him. Yellow5 started as a project that Steve and I worked on in high school, and we bought the domain together. However, I was poor at the time, and couldn’t afford my share of the domain when it came time to renew, so Steve gained full ownership of it. He left Y5 in it’s directory for years, but when he moved to his new server, I guess he decided he didn’t want it there anymore. I never heard anything from him about it, it just wasn’t there after he moved to servers.

I’d be more upset about it, except that I hadn’t updated the band site for over a year, and the funniest stuff on there was always the stuff that Steve wrote.

I’m more irritated about hammerspace losing its web home, and the various other websites we had set up on fojar, like the store, or obey fojar.

So, by this, and other stories, I assume that Steve is no longer communicating with anyone?

  5. Scott says:

Actually, Steve is still talking to several people I know of… He’s just cut off all contact with me for some reason. And before anyone asks why, or for more details, you now know as much as I do about the whole thing. I haven’t heard from Steve since before Christmas, and that’s the whole of the story. There was no fight or disagreement or anything leading up to this. One day he just quit answering phone calls, emails, and instant messages. I don’t know why, and to be honest, at this point, even if he called me up, I don’t want to be friends with someone who can just cut me out of his life like this.

    I have to agree there . . .

When Jasper punched me to try and convince me not to get married, what got me mad wasn’t the punch, it was him running away afterwards without telling me what the hell was going on.

Of course, when he did tell me, I just couldn’t believe how big of an idiot he was.
