aww yeah.. my crazy intense up-at-the-crack-of-dawn in-the-office-for-uncountable-hours work week is over. started the new harry potter book. went out and fiddled on the streetcorner on my lunch break today. got a lesson tomorrow which promises to be good. everything’s all right.
now, can anyone point me in the direction of a nice classy wine rack? (first, let me find the swedish translation for “ikea is not an option”…)

picked up a nice wine rack and a bookshelf for my growing collections of wine and religion and philosophy books at fred meyer – if or when i no longer live near a fred meyer’s, i’m really going to miss that place!
Wine Rack
Is it a gift or for yourself?
I’m not sure if they have a wine rack, but West Elm furniture, which is based near here, is pretty slick.
cool, i have requested a catalog. it is for me.. i have a plan.
i’m going to develop a taste for white wine, and i’m going to start my wine collection now, so 10 years from now i’ll have a decent showing. if i can find the right crystal, i’m going to collect some fancy brandies too.
i was at a party recently where the homeowners had a _very_ impressive wine cellar. it was an inspiration to me. [aside: they also had a cookie jar full of cigars. aces.]
question
Is the “aside” supposed to be a link to something?
asides, tangents, and segues
Yes… But it only works in browsers that support web standards, which means IE can’t view it.
Damn!!
Must . . . install . . . Opera
blork
damn you
That is a good plan! But I wish you were investing in red wine ;)
if you can
2001 Syncline Syrah. It’s the best regional Syrah in many years… and is unfortunately spendy as such. It is worth it.
Mmmm I love a good Syrah
My restaurant had a Italian Montepulciano for a while that was to die for… I can’t believe I didn’t buy a few cases of the stuff, it was ridiculously cheap at cost ($6 a bottle).
Come to think of it, I have a Porto that’s as old as I am, sitting around here. It was a graduation present. I’ve been saving it for a special occasion, but I don’t even know when that will be…
i already love red wine and have several nice bottles (including one that is a recent gift from someone … hey, if you read this, check your song folder, k?) – i want to develop a taste for white wine to let me enjoy a much wider slice of the vinted pie. :)
by the way, if you like a good cheap shiraz, check out wyndham hills bin 555. i picked up a bottle for $11 at QFC, and it is eminently drinkable.
PORT!!!
I LOVE PORT. Went to a port tasting a few months ago which was very cool. I do have to say though that almost all the ports we tasted were best at 20 years. The diff between 20-40+ (got to try an 80 year old tawny) was pretty much just $$$… and usually the 20s are better. So don’t let it sit TOO long ;)
